We are looking for a Compliance and Corporate Governance Officer for a 12-month full-time contract, based in Dublin. As part of this role you will provide support on compliance and governance duties and responsibilities for the Monument Group to the Deputy Group Head of Corporate Governance/Regional Head of Compliance for Bermuda.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support the Group compliance framework and Group Corporate Governance Framework for Monument’s Bermuda companies in accordance with applicable legislation, regulations, and codes.
  • Monitor Bermuda regulatory updates, analyse impacts, prepare horizon scanning, and coordinate required actions.
  • Assist with regulatory filings and reporting.
  • Conduct compliance assurance monitoring.
  • Provide support for sanctions screening and related AML/ATF compliance requirements.
  • Support the Privacy Officer with management of GDPR/PIPA compliance obligations.
  • Provide support to Bermuda-regulated insurers in meeting their compliance obligations.
  • Preparation and Delivery of compliance training. 
  • Support intra-group services reviews and oversight.
  • Provide corporate governance support for Monument’s Bermuda companies.
  • Maintain compliance and corporate governance policies, procedures, registers, records and documentation.
  • Manage governance calendars and track key regulatory and corporate deadlines.
  • Support alignment of compliance and corporate governance activities with risk and internal control frameworks, including the RCSA.
  • Assist with policy reviews, outsourcing oversight, business continuity compliance, and other risk-related processes.

Role Requirements

  • 5 years in a compliance, governance, or regulatory role within the insurance sector (Life or commercial re/insurance experience in Insurance Groups with a Bermuda presence is preferred).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and practices in Europe and Bermuda, covering insurance, AML/ATF and data protection and good knowledge of corporate governance practices.
  • A bachelor’s degree or a relevant professional qualification at an equivalent level.
  • Professional certification/s in compliance, risk, governance, or a relevant insurance qualification to diploma level (e.g., from LCI, ICA, IRM, CII, the Institutes/CPCU, CGI/ICSA). 
  • Strong writing, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ideally experience of Diligent Entities and Diligent Boards.
  • Proven ability to promote a strong compliance culture.
  • Ability to demonstrate keeping abreast of regulatory change and understanding and interpreting regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent work ethic with collaboration, and organisation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable and able to work autonomously.
  • Problem-solver who takes initiative to identify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Objective, analytical and detail-orientated person who displays a high level of integrity and ethical conduct.
To note, this role is not a Pre-Approval Controlled Function (PCF) /Controlled Function (CF)under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regime.
